Refund Policy

We cannot guarantee that your child will learn how to play chess effectively considering that a number of factors may affect their learning.

For example, if a child is not trying their best in class in terms of listening, taking notes, asking questions and doing their homework each week that is handed out. A child must also complete the in class exercises and their homework diligently.

Our responsibility is to teach chess efficiently and effectively using a structured format. The job of parents is to make sure their child is doing their homework, behaving in class, and motivating and supporting their child at home.

Refunds will only be provided if we fail to teach chess using a structured format with effective lesson plans.

It should be noted that the Burnaby Junior Chess Club (BJCC) reserves the right to ask a parent to remove their child.

Refund Policy - Deposits

Once a deposit has been received, we will contact you by e-mail letting you know that a spot has been reserved (i.e., set aside) for your child. All deposits are non-refundable.
